James Brolin, now 82, finds joy in his role as a grandfather and doting on his four grandkids, while settled in a quiet home maintained and beautified by his wife of 24 years, Barbra Streisand.

Legendary actor James Brolin finds joy in his roles as a father and grandfather after building a prolific Hollywood career and garnering immense popularity.

He enjoys doting on his four grandchildren and spending time with them, making precious and unforgettable memories.

Brolin leads a quiet life away from people’s eyes with his wife of 24 years, who many know as the iconic Barbra Streisand.

Born Craig Kenneth Bruderlin on July 18, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, James Brolin is an American actor who has won an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards. He was honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 27, 1998.

He’s starred in television shows and movies, beginning his acting career in the 60s and appearing in notable titles throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

Brolin is famously known for playing Stephen Kiley in “Marcus Welby, M.D.” from 1969 to 1976, Peter McDermott in “Hotel” from 1983 to 1988, and John Short in “Life in Pieces” from 2015 until 2019. He has also starred in the movies “Skyjacked,” “Westworld,” “Traffic,” and “Catch Me If You Can.”

The pair tied the knot after being set up on a blind date by a friend—an encounter that proved special and laid the foundation for their love and romance.
The actor is a proud father of four children: Josh Brolin, Jason Gould, Jess Brolin, and Molly Brolin. Jason is the son of Brolin’s third wife, Barbra Streisand, and her ex-husband, the Academy Award-nominated actor Elliott Gould.

Brolin has been married thrice. He wed Jane Cameron Agee from October 1966 to October 1986, followed by his second marriage to Jan Smithers from June 1986 to 1995. The “Amityville Horror” actor has been married to Streisand since July 1998.

Streisand is an American musician, actress, director, and producer and the only person ever to have bagged the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, Golden Globe, Tony, American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement honor, and numerous other accolades.

Born as Barbra Joan Streisand on April 24, 1942, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, her highly successful career spans over 60 years, and she continues to go strong even today.

Besides being an accomplished performer, Streisand identifies herself as a family woman who loves spending time with her loved ones. The “A Star Is Born” actress and her husband love doting on their beautiful brood comprising their children and grandkids.

Like his father, Brolin’s eldest son, Josh, is an actor who started his career as a child artist in the adventure film “The Goonies.” The “Sicario” alum also loves playing another role off camera — being a father to his four children, Trevor, Eden, Westlyn, and Chapel.

Josh, who plays a villain in the all-time popular “Avengers” franchise, is a proud dad and loves gushing over and spending quality time with his kids.

Brolin and Streisand have built a lovely family over their 24-year-long marriage, with the former sharing his secret to a happy and fulfilling relationship. The “A Marriage of Convenience” actor credits his long union to his excellent negotiation skills and patience.

The pair tied the knot after being set up on a blind date by a friend—an encounter that proved special and laid the foundation of their love and romance. In an interview in 2016, Streisand recalled how men were intimidated by her and feared approaching her.

She also confirmed the story of going on a blind date with Brolin, saying she was shocked to see him with very short hair and his beard clean-shaven, contrary to her expectations of having dinner with a bearded man living in the wilderness or mountains.

The “Funny Lady” alum said her husband fell in love with her when she asked him who messed up his hair. Gushing over Brolin, the award-winning actress and singer noted that her “fella liked to hear the truth” —which was quite strange.

On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Brolin gladly put on his grandpa hat as he posed for a candid photo while holding his two-year-old granddaughter, Chapel Grace. He shared the frame with Britt Boyd, Chapel’s maternal granddad, who held the toddler’s four-year-old sister, Westlyn Rain, in his warm embrace.

Even Streisand shared her husband’s joy, and despite not being blood-related to any of her grandkids, she melted every time she was around them.
The little girl’s daddy, Josh, shared the photograph in his Instagram stories with the in-lay text reading, “Grandpa(s) love.” The siblings looked adorable in their matching fringed pink frocks and accessories, with Brolin wearing a brown leather jacket and Boyd donning a black coat.

Josh shares his daughters with his third wife, Kathryn Boyd, whom he married in September 2016. He was previously married to Alice Adair from 1988 until 1992 and shares two older children, a son, Trevor, and a daughter Eden with her. The “Dune” actor’s second marriage was to actress Diane Lane from 2004 to 2013.

While Josh and his third wife, Kathryn, have reportedly been private about their children, they gave a glimpse into their family life on social media in December 2022.

“Power naps and power poses,” the ecstatic mom captioned the photo while posing next to her husband and their little girl. The frame also featured their other daughter enjoying her nap time.

It appears Josh takes after his dad, Brolin, who never misses a chance to gush over his children and grandkids. In an exclusive interview in 2020, the “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” star said his granddaughter Westlyn was the most darling baby he had ever seen.

On Westlyn’s weekly visits to her grandparents’ house, she, Brolin, and Streisand enjoyed having dinner and swimming together. Although the family’s meetup with their grandkids was disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, they managed to stay connected and check on each other.

Whenever Westlyn or their older grandchildren dropped by, Brolin and his wife ensured they had their face masks on to ensure their safety. Around that time, the proud grandparents were thrilled to welcome another addition to their family, as Josh and Kathryn were pregnant with their daughter, Chapel.

Although the world learned about the pregnancy much later, Brolin and Streisand were already aware and couldn’t contain their excitement when they discovered another baby girl was on the way. “You get another like [Westlyn]; there couldn’t be anything better,” exclaimed Brolin at the time.

Even Streisand shared her husband’s joy, and despite not being blood-related to any of her grandkids, she melted every time she was around them. Brolin noted how his spouse turned into a mush ball whenever their grandchildren visited and how she doted over them during phone calls and video chat sessions.

Besides adoring his younger grandchildren and caring for them as a proud and responsible granddad, Brolin also shares a special bond with his older grandkids. In another interview in 2020, he expressed how being a grandpa was his favorite role, and he wouldn’t hesitate to be there for his grandson, Trevor, and granddaughter, Eden.

But with his grandchildren growing up and following different career paths, the “Westworld” alum said he didn’t see them too often. Brolin explained how Eden had moved to the countryside in upstate New York and spent some time in Montana shooting a series.

The megastar doted on Eden, calling her the sweetest and most talented girl, who excelled in singing and playing the piano. Meanwhile, Trevor reportedly lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, because of his job.

And while he does not see his grandkids frequently, Brolin said he connected with them over the phone. He also once joked that despite being an experienced and highly recognized Hollywood star, his older grandkids didn’t appear interested in hearing his advice. He said Trevor and Eden only listened to him somewhat, which he could tell after seeing them repeat his words much later.

While 82-year-old Brolin adores being a grandfather of four, he also enjoys a secluded and peaceful life in his dream home, which is constantly maintained and beautified by his gorgeous wife.

The power couple now resides in their multi-million-dollar house in Malibu on the California coast, which features an array of exquisite art pieces from Streisand’s impressive collection.
While giving an interview in June 2022, the “Sweet Tooth” star met the reporter at a restaurant instead of his residence because he and his talented wife were having their barn painted.

He also revealed that they had three houses right next to each other, including the one where they lived, another middle house for guests and recording music, and a third one where Streisand stored things she loved collecting, including jewelry, furniture, artifacts, and anything she found beautiful and worth keeping.

Even after being with his wife for many years, Brolin admitted to being mesmerized by her beauty and personality. He recalled being in awe of how his wife had designed their house impeccably, getting the job done swiftly, and being confident about what she wanted.

When asked if Streisand allowed her husband to design any part of their beautiful home, Brolin said he designed his area, with his star spouse sometimes making him reconsider his original decisions.

The power couple now resides in their multi-million-dollar house in Malibu on the California coast, which features an array of exquisite art pieces from Streisand’s impressive collection. She and Brolin have reportedly owned the mansion since the 1990s and revamped it through the years.

The “Guilty” singer’s mansion is decorated with numerous laurels and expensive decor. It features a main house, a beautiful barn, a mill house, a wishing well, a garden adorned with wonderful flowers, and a lake where she and her husband enjoy boating and spending some quiet time unwinding and pondering after a busy day.

Streisand shared in a 2021 interview that she didn’t always have money to afford expensive furniture pieces and decorative items. At the time, the “Evergreen” singer said she purchased old photo frames, placed them on the white walls, and learned to find beauty in the simplest things.

Over the years, Streisand worked hard to build her career, and as her love for fine art became more profound, she finally reached a point where she could afford nearly everything, including a house of her own.

Brolin and Streisand’s picture-perfect Malibu home boasts a luxurious and cozy vibe, including a fireplace with stainless steel panels and a bedroom designed along the lines of the 1930s Bigelow original, which the songstress fell in love with in a San Francisco hotel suite.

Inspired by her passion for interior and exterior design and stealing a page from the books of other architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Streisand breathed life into her vision and turned her residence into the home of her dreams.

Despite their wild yet popular Hollywood journeys, Brolin and Streisand live their dream life in their lovely house and enjoy being proud grandparents to their bundles of joy! We hope they continue to grow and prosper in love.
