‘The Partridge Family’ star Danny Bonaduce undergoes brain surgery after mystery illness

Danny Bonaduce has successfully undergone brain surgery to alleviate the symptoms of a mystery condition that has been plaguing him for years.

We reported last week that the actor and radio DJ was facing a worrying operation after suffering from a serious health scare that had left him unable to walk and severely affected his balance.

The actor and television and radio personality, who rose to fame as a child actor in the 1970s on The Partridge Family, was reportedly diagnosed with hydrocephalus in March, having sought answers from hundreds of doctors as he battled a mystery illness.

On Monday, Bonaduce went under the knife for two hours, according to TMZ. His surgery went off without a hitch, however, and the 63-year-old can now focus on his recovery.

A close friend of the actor’s told TMZ that Danny is expected to be released from hospital in the next couple of days, but many weeks of resting will follow.

The outlet say that the main goal of the surgery was to help Danny restore some of his lost balance.

According to reports, it was his partner, Amy, who first realized something was wrong with her husband, back in April 2022.

“She looked really nervous, and she [said], ‘You’re not saying words, you’re not speaking English,” Danny recalled.

Danny was promptly rushed to hospital, though his symptoms left doctors perplexed.

“I couldn’t walk at all. I couldn’t balance, I couldn’t do anything like that,” Danny explained.

“I just immediately said ‘stroke.’ I’d seen my dad had a stroke, it was the same thing. I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t keep my balance, I slurred really badly, I couldn’t remember anything.”

Once he’s sufficiently recovered, it’s expected that Bonaduce will return to his radio hosting duties.

TMZ say he will be selling his Seattle home, as the abode has too many stairs and rooms for him to get around safely.

Here’s to wishing Danny Bonaduce all the very best in the future. We’re happy his surgery went well!
