Madonna posts first selfies following disturbing ICU scare – thanks fans for support

Madonna has taken to social media to post stunning selfies for the first time since being discharged from her recent hospital stay.

The 64-year-old star had endured a brief but concerning ICU stay due to a “serious bacterial infection,” forcing her team to postpone her upcoming tour.

Now, Madonna is sharing photos with her fans for the first time since the incident

On Tuesday (July 18), the ‘Vogue‘ singer posted a series of selfies on social media. In one Instagram post, Madonna can be seen with a serene smile, hugging a large bouquet of pink roses.

She captioned the photo with a heartfelt quote: “‘A single rose can be my garden. A single friend my world.’ […] Thank You.”

Additionally, she shared two back-to-back selfies on her Instagram Stories, where she’s seen cozily holding a purple stuffed animal. In the first selfie, she gazes into the camera with a serious expression, while in the second, she playfully hides slightly behind the plush toy.

Following her hospitalization, Madonna took to Instagram on July 10 with a lengthy quote that expressed her gratitude and provided an update on her health. She thanked her fans for their “positive energy, Prayers and words of healing and encouragement.”

Madonna also wrote that she was concerned for her children, and that she remained committed to not disappoint her fans and the dedicated team that worked on her show.

She also assured her followers that her focus is on her health and recovery and pledged to reschedule the North American leg of her tour, with plans to begin in Europe in October.

Live Nation, in a press release issued the same day, confirmed the unfortunate postponement of the first leg of The Celebration Tour in North America. The company encouraged fans to hold onto their tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates once announced, People reported.

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, had initially confirmed her hospitalization in a June 28 Instagram post, revealing the serious bacterial infection that led to her stay in the ICU. However, he also stated that her health was improving and that a full recovery was expected.

Madonna has since returned home and is continuing her recovery under medical care, according to a source close to the Grammy winner.

We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Madonna.
