86-year-old Alain Delon stubbornly refuses to leave the minds and hearts of his fans. Especially the fans. Once upon a time, almost every woman in the world probably dreamed of a great French actor. But the years have passed and taken their toll, but today’s old man is still able to conquer and surprise the public. It looks like Alain Delon wants to do euthanasia.
In fact, this can hardly be called unexpected news. Over the past years, the legend of French cinema has often spoken about his retirement , about how much he dislikes the modern world and that he is simply bored with life. And at his age, Alain does not see any advantages.
“I’m not afraid of old age, but of illness. There are no immortal people, it’s unpleasant to realize, but we have to put up with it. Getting old is terrible! And we can’t do anything about it. We lose face and vision, stand up and feel how the hell our ankle hurts. The torment is terrible ,” admits the actor.
Back in 2018, the actor often talked about how he wanted to die on his own terms. And since then Delon has not changed his opinion. Moreover, in 2019 he suffered a double stroke, but doctors managed to save his life. And a year later his ex-but only wife Natalie passed away. And although they had not been together for a long time, too many things connected them.
As if this were not enough, in 2021 Alain Delon lost his faithful friend and bitter rival Jean-Paul Belmondo. For almost his entire acting career, Delon tried to outdo his colleague and couldn’t stand him. Only over the years did their enmity develop into real friendship. On his last journey, Alain saw off his friend in the front row along with the Belmondo family.
And it seems that this was the last straw. As Alain admitted, he is no longer able to watch people whom he knew and loved leave; he is increasingly overcome by a feeling of loneliness and helplessness. That is why he decided on euthanasia, which is allowed in Switzerland, where the actor is currently undergoing treatment.
“I find this way of dying the most logical and natural. With age, we have the right to get the hell out of life quietly, without hospitals and injections ,” says Alain Delon. And it’s probably not for us to judge him.
