Annie Potts, of Designing Women fame, has been hospitalized, the 71-year-old shared via an update on her social media.
As per reports, the actress posted a picture of herself to Instagram on August 22, in which she can be seen posing beside a nurse.
She captioned the post: “Nurse Gabby took such wonderful care of me after my knee replacement. God always sends an angel when you need them most.❤️”
Dressed in a hospital gown and blue-framed spectacles, Potts was seen with a tube in her nose, giving off a rather alarming appearance, all told.
Yet any concern was belied by the smiles she and the nurse offered, with fans of the Young Sheldon star quick to send their well wishes her way.
The recent knee replacement is certainly not the first surgery Potts has had to undergo in her life. In 2022 the actress revealed that she had been in a car accident when she was 21, breaking nearly every bone in her body below the waist after she was hit by a drunk driver.
She also shed light on the fact that she needed an ankle replacement when Young Sheldon wrapped, telling Glamour: “I’ll do that as soon as the show wraps season five, because I’m going to need all of the hiatus to get my function back.”
Earlier this year Potts told PEOPLE that her role in Young Sheldon may be her “last rodeo”.
Of the CBS sitcom coming to an end after seven seasons, she said:
“I mean, I love the cast. Wonderful character to play. But hey, I’m old, this could be my last rodeo. I mean, I thought about that though, panicked me a little bit. These things are hard to come by, I’ve had a couple, but they were all tough, so yeah.”
Her recent knee replacement surgery naturally evoked sympathy and well wishes from her fans, who flocked to her social media post to send their support.
“Prayers for your recovery […] 🙏🏼,” wrote one person on Instagram.
“Blessings for a speedy recovery,” penned another.
Sending strength to Annie Potts at this time!
